We made it to the ‘Group of Death’… or is it? Let’s be honest, this group is still for Germany to win, the difference between them and the rest is still big. Now about the other three… USA is making a lot of progress, and they are doing everything well with regards to the MLS, so I would really like to see that rewarded with a second place and them advancing to the Round of 16. Can they pull it off by beating Portugal? My head says ‘no’ but I have a hunch so I will give them the nod.
Portugal is definitely a one-man-band. The difference in quality between Ronaldo and the rest of his team is as big as the difference between Argentina and their rivals in Group E. Will it be enough to beat Ghana? Probably. What about the rest? Maybe a tie with the US and definitely a loss versus Germany. Ghana will –in my opinion– follow the path of the other African nations (except for Ivory Coast) and end in last place.

Llegamos al ‘Group of Death’… o no? Seamos honestos, este grupo es todo de Alemania, la diferencia entre ellos y el resto es aún muy grande. Con respecto a los otros tres… USA ha progresado mucho, y están haciendo todo bien con la MLS, así que me gustaría mucho que eso tuviera su recompensa con un segundo puesto que los haga avanzar a los Octavos de Final. Podrán hacerlo, venciendo a Portugal? Mi cabeza dice ‘no’, pero tengo una corazonada así que les voy a dar mi voto de confianza.
Portugal es definitivamente Ronaldo y 10 más. La diferencia de calidad entre CR7 y el resto de su equipo es tan grande como la que hay entre Argentina y sus rivales del Grupo E. Será suficiente para que vencer a Ghana? Tal vez. Pero el resto? Tal vez un empate con USA pero definitivamente van a perder con Alemania. Ghana –en mi opinión– seguirá el camino de sus pares africanos (excepto por Costa de Marfil) y terminará en cuarto puesto.
